iLoVeIt: Musicals
Christmas-time is the most acceptable time for random singing especially in movies. I like musicals preferably the comedic kind and ♫these are a few of my favorite ones♪.
Wizard of Oz (1939)
An American in Paris (1951)
Singing in the Rain (1952)
Seven Wives for Seven Sons (1954)
Guys and Dolls (1955)
West Side Story (1961)
My Fair Lady (1964)
Mary Poppins (1964)
Sound of Music (1965)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
Little Shop of Horrors (1986)
The Muppets Christmas Carol (1992)
Sister Act (1992)
Sister Act: Back in the Habit (1993)
Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997)
Alice in Wonderland (1999)
Annie (1999)
Chicago (2002)
Hairspray (1988 & 2007)
The latest musical to hit the big screen is Les Misérables. I really liked the 1998 version and am looking forward to this new rendition. I really like the song Anne Hathaway sings in the trailer and I love the fact that the songs weren't pre-recorded then lipsynced (that's my pet peeve with newer musicals; all that auto-tune makes the song unauthentic).
Have a very Merry Christmas Eve!!
