What Celebrities Can Learn From Joy Villa

Image
"Villa’s success should be a signal to other pro-Trump celebrities, artists, and entertainers: it’s not just safe to come out of the closet, it’s beneficial. The grandees of showbiz might hate you, but an army of rebels, renegades, and deplorables in the public will rally to your side. None of this is news to me, of course... Chadwick Moore, a gay journalist from New York who recently came out as a conservative, has discovered the same untapped market. Subjected to months of shunning, bullying, and cold-shouldering from his former liberal friends after he profiled me in Out magazine, Moore has now found in conservatism a much bigger, more appreciative and perhaps even larger audience. Keep in mind Chadwick Moore is a gay man and Joy Villa is a black woman. The man who designed Villa’s dress is a gay Filipino immigrant. All, then, come from constituencies that the left believes it owns, and both work in fields that the left consider their home turf....

I've been talking in past tense about someone really close to me recently and I hate it. Legitimately, a year ago this month I posted a blog about her asking my Christian readers to join me in prayer for her in my blog " Valerie ". Sadly this past weekend she past away suddenly. Talking about her in past tense not only makes me sad (I hardly believe that she's really gone) but it's taught me to always forgive and frequently let my loved ones know I love them. I'd like to reopen the invitation to believers to pray for the salvation of her family (which is also my family). The lady of conversation is my aunt. She's the only 1st aunt of mine that I got to know. My other aunts weren't there for my family while I was growing up. My aunt  was  a diva, an undercover celebrity- she taught me about fashion and how to have fun on a budget. She was  everything an aunt is suppose to be and then some. She had  her times were she made it hard for us to forgive h...

Love It Or Leave It: Music Review 2

I know a lot of people would see this brother on the streets and think he's up to no good but knowing Reconcile he'd probably be on the corner sharing the Gospel to strangers. lol Ronnie "Reconcile" Lillard is his name. What came to mind after the 20th time I listened to this song was "those who are forgiven much love much". Read the passage below to understand the entire context and meaning of that phrase. Luke 7:36-50 Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman 36 Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, 38 and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. 39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, h...

Love It Or Leave It: Music Review

Image
I don't know about you but I love free things especially free music. I've found a few free mixtapes that I thought were cool and want to share with you all. I love it all so no need for the instructions this time. Yay my first music review in the LoVeIt Or LeaveIt series. Fruit Cocktail B3AR FRUIT: Various Artist "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit." Matthew 7:18 Kind of old but if I didn't know about this until now I'm sure someone else doesn't know about this either. This mixtape features only a few people I know but the music is inspirational, educational, encouraging and you get introduced to several different artist. The whole album has a kind of jazzy 90s feel to it. My favorite song: Gentleness by Trip Lee, I like how he personifies Gentleness and the flow of his verses. Release Date: November 2010 You can find it here: http://b3arfruit.bandcamp.com/ PSA PRo The Mixtape "I don...

Judging Others Defended

Yes I know this is a very long blog but the read is worth it. I hear and read many people say that Christians aren't suppose to judge others but THAT'S NOT TRUE. If you want to truly know what gives Christians the right to judge read on.   " When Dan Quayle said that Murphy Brown’s giving birth to an illegitimate child wasn’t a good role model for America’s youth, he was ridiculed, called “judgmental,” and labeled arrogant.  Who was he to pontificate about “family values”?  Quayle wasn’t hit with the criticism rightly leveled against some—that they are hypocrites.  He was accused of doing what no one has the right to do: telling others how to live. It’s been said that the most frequently quoted Bible verse is no longer John 3:16 but Matthew 7:1: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”  We cannot glibly quote this, though, without understanding what Jesus meant.  When Jesus condemned judging, he wasn’t at all implying we should never make judgme...

Reblogged: DATING VS. MARRIAGE

Image
blog from MyIslandsugar " DATING VS. MARRIAGE: A lot of people think that dating means they should just continue to date for years until they are ready..or they may NEVER be ready. That's fine too, if you choose to date for the rest of your life...but REMEMBER THIS:  If you're NOT married, then you're single...even if you're dating someone, you AND THEY are still LEGALLY single; hopefully, monogamous, but still SINGLE. Even, if you date for a long period of time before you marry, you are more likely to end up in divorce or split up...go figure. {see the Patti statement above for that one; although never-married Patti also just ended her engagement after SIX YEARS; she's now complaining about being too old {she's 49, I believe} to have her own children after wasting years with this man and others. This happens ALL THE TIME. Its not that difficult to steal someone who only "dating" someone else. Why can't they see someone else, they are sing...
